Opener Repair · Lancaster, CA

Garage door opener repair & replacement.

Won't open? Hums but doesn't move? Remote works sometimes? We diagnose on-site and fix it that day. All brands — LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Marantec.

Every opener problem, diagnosed and fixed.

  • Opener hums but the door doesn't move: usually a stripped main gear or a dead capacitor. Both are fixable in 30 minutes.
  • Remotes don't work but wall button does: remote batteries, RF interference, or the receiver logic board.
  • Door opens but won't close: the photo-eye safety sensors near the floor are misaligned or have a dirty lens.
  • Opener reverses halfway down: force/sensitivity is set too aggressively, or the door itself is out of balance (spring issue).
  • Smart features (myQ, HomeLink) won't connect: WiFi, firmware, or a learn-button reset.

SB-969 battery backup — required in California

California's SB-969 requires battery backup on any residential garage door opener manufactured after July 1, 2019. If your opener is older and you're upgrading, we install fully compliant LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers that meet the requirement. The backup also keeps your door working during the (frequent) PG&E outages we get in the Antelope Valley.

FAQ

Straight answers, no upsell.

My garage door opener won't respond. What should I check first?
Two things: the door's wall button (does it work? if yes, your opener motor is fine and the issue is the remotes), and the photo-eye sensors near the floor (are both LEDs solid green/red? if one is blinking, they're misaligned). After that, call us — we can diagnose remotely in many cases.
Do I have to replace the whole opener, or can it be fixed?
Most issues are repairable — bad logic board, dead capacitor, stripped gear, dying battery backup. Full opener replacement is usually only worthwhile when the unit is 15+ years old or the parts cost more than half a new unit.
Do I need a battery backup opener in California?
If you live in California and you install a new opener, yes — SB-969 requires battery backup on residential openers manufactured after July 2019. We install SB-969-compliant LiftMaster and Chamberlain units that meet the requirement.
What's the difference between chain, belt, and jackshaft openers?
Chain drive is rugged and cheaper; belt drive is quieter (less vibration through the ceiling, which matters if a bedroom is above the garage); jackshaft (wall-mount) is the quietest of all and frees up ceiling space for high-lift doors. We can demo the noise difference — try our Opener Sound Library tool.
